Coming in April!
After a very long wait, (about a year for you, but 17 years for me) I'm thrilled to be doing final edits for this story. So, until I can give a more specific release date, here's this:
Moving to Arkansas is hard for Lauren, but it’s worth it to be near her boyfriend and pursue her art degree. That is, until she meets Jake, the guy her roommate is in love with. Now she’s stuck on a merry-go-round of love triangles, and someone is going to get hurt.
Jake has given up on finding love in this town’s small LDS dating pool, but he’s committed to stay as long as his grandma needs him. When Lauren moves in, he knows the universe is laughing at him. The one girl he’d give anything to have is already taken. All he can do is be the friend she so obviously needs and hope that someday she’ll choose him.
Every time I finish a rough draft, I feel like I'm on top of the world. Even though editing is hard, gritty, depressing work, finishing the first draft is absolutely the hardest part for me. So, I'm so excited to announce, that I've finished the rough draft for "Something Radiant" and I am on schedule to release it this summer. I will give a firm date in a later post.
For now, I thought I'd share a drawing I did in my own college figure drawing class, where so much of the inspiration for this story came from. It still hangs in a frame in my garage to remind me that of what I can do, though my 5 year old son always asks why there's a picture of a girl in her underwear hanging in the garage. (Though technically, it was a bikini. Just sayin'!)
